Check the WAN Internet cable that plugs into the router – that might be damaged or… not plugged in. Reinitializing the connection to your ISP might help you get Internet access when connected to WiFi. Restart your router – it’s actually been recommended by the FBI recently. To solve these potential router issues, you can try the following: hotspots being placed in locations that result in spotty signal strength. 
too many people connected to the same WiFi hotspot – usually applies to public WiFi networks (e.g. issues with the Internet cable that plugs into the router – either damaged or… not plugged in. outdated hardware, buggy device firmware or old wireless infrastructure. 
If it does, go to the next article section. Just try connecting to the same WiFi hotspot with another device and see if that works. As with any networking issues, there are 2 places to look: the networking equipment (router) and the device having the issue (computer, smartphone, tablet, etc.).
